Hey Ladies!! A little bit about myself. My name is Kelly. I am a Cancer so naturally I wear my heart on my sleeve. I am the nurturing mother of the Zodiac ” How fitting!” I find comfort in my home and my family. I am a wife, a mother of four, and a stepmom of one. I am a native of the Midwest. I enjoy being outdoors, cooking, baking, DIY, and writing. My favorite season is Fall and my favorite holiday is Halloween. I also enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas (mainly because of the food!) My little family is one of the greatest blessings in my life, even though they drive me crazy most of the time. I am a firm believer in family being everything. I am also somewhat old school when it comes to my marriage and raising my children.
I am writing this blog for a few reasons. One, to get it out!!!! I’ve had so much on my plate and my mind that I needed an outlet! I figure even if that is all that comes from this at least I have that. Two, I know there may be some other moms and stepmoms who may feel the same way and are ashamed or scared to speak their truths!!! I know for the longest time I was. Three, I know from experience that you don’t want to feel alone or be alone. You don’t want to feel like you do and you need to know you’re not completely crazy! I was there too!!
I want every mom and step mom out there to know you’re not alone. ( I now have Michael Jackson’s ” You Are Not Lone” stuck in my head.) I want you know that there are plenty of women who go through what you go through and feel what you feel.
It’s time to stop letting society tell us how we should be. Stop letting society tell us what we should or shouldn’t be doing. Stop letting society make us feel like we are the evil step moms!!!! Let’s lift each other up, not tear each other down!!!:) Have a fantastic day all you wonderful mommas and step mommas!!!
One last thing!!! Besides the blog if I find any great recipes, health information, arts and crafts, anything interesting I will try to make sure to post that as well. I know as a momma I am always looking for new recipes that are quick, easy, and that the kids will eat. I am also always looking for ideas for the kids, whether that be fun things or things to get them to help around the house, or listen!!!(HAHA) I will also post those!
